DomiNIC supports over 1200 name spaces with international domain names (IDN).

DomiNIC establishes a direct line of communication with the systems of the registries (NICs) of the different top level domains (TLDs) in order to register and edit any domains. Every NIC has a system of its own and its own specific requirements (NIC protocol).

This not only concerns the handling of the different transport protocols, operations and different data structures (e.g. for contacts etc.) but also the adherence to registry policies and the registry-specific processes and workflows. DomiNIC reproduces these individual specifications in central registry drivers. Aside from automated processes, DomiNIC also supports operations that require a manual activity like e.g. the transit operations. The process is interrupted internally by the system and it is put on hold until the manual operation has been executed and the process is cleared for further processing by an administrator via the GUI.
