Bornheim near Bonn, August 30, 2010 - The DSS Digital Security Corp. mbH, an international provider of domain management software, has officially been renamed to DomiNIC GmbH (www.dominic.de). According to the software maker, it is looking to strengthen the brand of its domain management software that is called DomiNIC and the company also intends to unlock new growth potential. Moreover, the company is hopeful to create a higher degree of transparency and to facilitate the communication with its customers and business partners.
According to Sven-Holger Wabnitz, CEO of DomiNIC GmbH, the company has already been able to complete the tasks that the change of name brought with it like the rebranding including a new logo and the relaunch of the company's website. Additionally, the corporate structure was adapted and new departments (consulting, development and service) were created. "With the change of name we have set the future direction of the company. We are emphasizing the DomiNIC brand, we are simplifying the external communication and we are paving the way for an accelerated expansion of our services on a multinational level", the DomiNIC CEO points out. Back in 1998 already, the Internet expert Wabnitz co-launched the software maker that specializes in the automation of Internet-based business processes.
The name "DomiNIC" is derived from "Domains and Network Information Center". The company provides the software family DomiNIC for the automated management of Internet domains to be used by domain registries and companies in two versions: DomiNIC for Domains and DomiNIC for Brands. Another important field of activity for the company, among others, is the linkage of the real world with the Internet via the Electronic Product Code (EPC) in RFID chips. As a result, any product -from food to clothes and even appliances- would be traceable via DNS entries at any time. In addition to that, the software maker is also taking an active part in establishing the domain security standard DNSSEC (Domain Name System Security Extensions).
